JAX REACTS: Super Bowl 57 Top Storylines to Watch

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, The Philadelphia Eagles are a 2.5 point favorite against the Kansas City Chiefs for Super Bowl 57. Here are some of the top storylines that I thought of on the top of my head at 12:00AM on January 30th:

  1. EAGLES REBOOT: We need to give credit to the Eagles front office. To develop so much talent from players that were drafted within in organization. There were only 3 starters from the 2018 super bowl winning team. They drafted an Alabama QB who lost his job in the second round. They believed him over Carson Wentz who will now be on his fourth team this upcoming season! Jalen Hurts got them to the super bowl in just his SECOND YEAR! Other stud players that the Eagles drafted: WR Quez Watkins (2020 6th round), LT Jordan Mailata (2018 7th round), Jason Kelce (2011 6th round), TE Dallas Goedert (2018 2nd round pick), RB Miles Sanders (2019 2nd round), RB Kenneth Gainwell (2021 5th round), DE Josh Sweat (2018 4th round), and more! Their ability to sign free agents like James Bradberry, Darius Slay, Marcus Epps, CJ Gardner Johnson. Kyzir White, and Hasson Reddick is insane! Also keeping old heads like Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox.

  2. CHIEFS ROOKIES TURNED VETS: Their 2022 rookies are performing at high levels and make BIG plays at the right moments. Second round pick WR Sky Moore had some big fly sweeps and returns that helped Chiefs offense to get into field goal range. 2022 7th round pick Isiah Pacheco is proving to be the hardest running back in the league and is getting 90% of reps. Defensive rookies that shine include: DE 1st round pick DE George Karlaftis, 2022 7th round pick CB Justin Watson, and 2022 1st round pick CB Trent McDuffie. As a Cardinals fan, I'm used to minimal reps and taking forever to trust our rookies.

  3. A MUCH NEEDED TWO WEEK BREAK: Both starting QBs in the Super Bowl will not be 100% at 4:30 PM on February 12 in Phoenix, AZ. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has a shoulder injury that he's been dealing with for weeks. He claims it has gotten better but some deep ball throws were inaccurate. But Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes's injured ankle from divisional round vs Jaguars continued to bother Mahomes against Bengals and limped his way to a victory. Both quarterbacks have to be thrilled to rest up for the biggest game of their lives.

  4. THE KELCE BOWL: For the first time in super bowl history, a pair of brothers face off in the super bowl on different teams. What a year to start a weekly podcast! The two Kelce brothers have been posting one 1 hour podcast each week during the season and has been a HIT! According to Spotify, The "New Heights" podcast is the top sports podcast in the world.

  5. ONE V ONE: For only the THIRD time in super bowl history, the number 1 ranked offense will be facing the number 1 ranked defense. The previous two matchups eluded to victories by teams with number 1 ranked defense. Chiefs have the number 1 offense and Eagles have the number 1 defense.

  6. DOUBLE TEAMED: Will the Chiefs defense bracket the Eagles two top WRs on the outside like they did the Bengals's WRs Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase later in that game? Will the Eagles take the Bengals second half defensive plan against Travis Kelce for their own?

okay im done. time for bed. I LOVE FOOTBALL!
